Aino AS is a family-owned investment firm originating from the island of Lovund. We focus on long-term value creation as active owners. The company is built on the legacy of Nova Sea AS, a pioneer in the Norwegian aquaculture industry, and combines deep industrial knowledge and financial competence.

The company has a broad investment portfolio, including listed equities, fixed-income securities and direct investments.

Investments

Aino AS has a diversified portfolio of financial investments, both through an actively managed portfolio and in collaboration with carefully selected managers. The majority of the financial investments are in equities with both a Nordic and global mandate. The company also has significant investments in fixed-income securities where the allocation also reflects the company’s liquidity preferences.

Financial Investments

Aino AS continues to utilize its knowledge in the aquaculture industry through direct investments in a selection of companies where we can add value by combining our industrial expertise with financial and strategic competence. The investments are primarily directed toward more mature companies, but we also hold a handful of selected investments in earlier stages.

Active Ownership

Aino AS has exposure to various alternative investment mandates, including Private Equity, Venture Capital and Project Finance. The alternative investments are either through participation in funds or as direct investments in selected projects.

Other Investments

The foundation was established to reinvest in people and communities through projects that create lasting impact.

It supports initiatives that empower women through education, healthcare, and community engagement—primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The foundation also funds education and skills development in rural areas, and backs efforts to support individuals with dyslexia, both in Norway and internationally.
